Women's Study--"Church of the Small Things" 4/10/19

Church of the Small Things
The Million Little Pieces That Make Up a Life
Wednesdays at 6:15pm starting April 10th
(6 Week Study - Video & Discussion - Begins Apr. 10)
Rachel’s Room - 3rd Floor - EB1

Join us Wednesday, April 10th! No book or sign up needed.

It’s been said, “Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the number of moments that take our breath away.” The pressure of that can be staggering as we spend our days looking for that big thing that promises to take our breath away. Meanwhile, we lose sight of the small significance of fully living with every breath we take.

Melanie Shankle, New York Times bestselling author and writer at The Big Mama Blog , tackles these questions head on in her fourth book, Church of the Small Things. Easygoing and relatable, she speaks directly to the heart of women of all ages who are longing to find significance and meaning in the normal, sometimes mundane world of driving carpool to soccer practice, attending class on their college campus, cooking meals for their family, or taking care of a sick loved one.

*No need to get the book or sign up for this study. Contact Jenny Carman or Becky Wills if you have questions.

Why Your Opinions Are Valued

Often congregation members are reluctant to voice their thoughts and opinions about the Church, but that is exactly what the Calvary Transition Team is asking Calvary members and attendees to do.  We are ready to listen as you describe your current experiences at Calvary and give us your ideas for the future, especially as we begin to seek a new Senior Pastor.

The Calvary Transition Team is providing two opportunities for you to voice your opinions and desires as we map out the future of Calvary. The Congregational Assessment Tool (The CAT) and Calvary Listening Sessions, will allow us to collect and understand the range of views that exist at Calvary Baptist Church and the possibilities, willingness, capacity, and energy for moving our ministry into the future.  We value your opinion and look forward to your participation in both events.

Many of you have already taken the CAT survey.  The next important step is to sign up for a Calvary Listening Session.  In these one-hour sessions, you’ll have an opportunity for direct conversations with other Calvary friends.  These focus-group style sessions will occur May 1 through May 7.  All sessions will be in the Fireside Room. Childcare will be provided for some sessions as indicated. Dr. Bo Prosser, a nationally known Cooperative Baptist Fellowship facilitator from North Carolina will conduct the 30 Listening Sessions.  If you haven’t already signed up, go to the scheduling site at the link below (Sign-up.com) and enter your email, choose a specific time slot, insert your name, click done or save, then show up at your designated time. Very easy! You’ll even receive reminder notices of your time. If you don’t have an email address, you can sign up at the Transition table after church on Sunday or call the church office at 254-3491. Below is the link to the Sign-up and the Listening Session times:
