Wednesday Evening Discipleship

Beginning August 28 (4 week study)

6:15pm, Fireside Room, Led by Hank Ellington

During this four week session we will be studying the book Bonhoeffer: Pastor, Martyr, Prophet, Spy by Eric Metaxas and discussing the life of Dietrich Bonhoeffer. Books will be available for purchase. Please contact the office with questions or email Hank Ellington.

Women’s Ministry Bible Study
A Journey in Christ-Centered Discipleship with Oswald and Biddy Chambers
8 week Bible study beginning on Monday, Sept 9th
11am-12:30pm
Rachel’s Room, 3rd Floor EB1
Led by Eric Fruge

Texts will include: Oswald Chambers, My Utmost for his Highest and Michelle Ule, Mrs. Oswald Chambers:  The Woman behind the World’s Bestselling Devotional

Rather than the study bringing the biblical texts to the participants, participants will bring biblical texts to the study they feel are related to the devotional readings in My Utmost for His Highest. 

 Some themes and topics for discussion will be:

  • The ministries of Oswald and Biddy

  • Surrender of the Will and the Cost of Discipleship -What does “discipleship” mean?

  • Adversity and Crisis -How does a Christian walk through adversity?

  • Christian Service – Is something standing in your way?

Easter Sunday at Calvary 4/21/19

Worship with us on Easter Sunday at 7:00 (Sunrise Service on the Green Space), 8:30 or 11:00. Hank Ellington will share his sermon “What’s Love Got To Do With It?” at Sunrise Service. Bob Browning will share the message, “An Empty Tomb Filled With Hope” at the 8:30 & 11:00 services.  The Scripture reading this week is from John 20:1-18. Offering For Global Missions on Sunday, May 5

On Sunday, May 5 at both 8:30 and 11:00 Services we will be collecting an Offering For Global Missions in partnership with Cooperative Baptist Fellowship. One hundred percent of your gift to the offering goes to missions funding and sends CBF field personnel to share the Good News of Jesus Christ around the world. Please visit the CBF website for more information on the important work happening with the help of the Offering For Global Missions or contact Brian Varble.

April 2019 Build-A-Bed Work Days Are Coming!

April 16, 23, 25 & 30 from 5:30 - 7:30pm are the evening pre-cut and pre-build work dates. We’re working off site at 109 W. Loudon Avenue (the old LexTran building) cutting, sanding and staining to get ready for the Saturday, May 4th Build-A-Bed delivery day. Opportunities for all ages and skill levels. Check out WKYT's story on Calvary's March 2018 Build-A-Bed project.
