Combined Worship, Testimony & Called Business Mtg 8/26/18

On Sunday, August 26th,  we will have combined worship at 11:00am in the Sanctuary.  The candidate for Minister to College Students & Young Adults will share personal testimony.  Following worship, the Personnel Committee will present its recommendation for the candidate for Minister to College Students and Young Adults at a Special Called Business Meeting to be held in the Sanctuary at 12:00pm.  (Read an excerpt from Dr. Baker's 8/9/18 Pastor's Paragraph below.)

Excerpt from Dr. Baker's 8/9/18 Pastor's Paragraph: There will be a called church business meeting immediately following the 11:00 worship service on August 26. The purpose of this business session will be to consider a recommendation from our Minister of College Students and Young Adults Search Committee. This recommendation will be to call a candidate to become Calvary’s next Minister of College Students and Young Adults. The candidate will share a personal testimony during the morning worship service (which will be a combined worship service that day). At the called Business Meeting, the search committee will share additional information. We will not release the candidate’s name at this time because of his/her current ministry position in another church. However, the candidate’s name and resume will be shared with our church family during the week prior to August 26. Please be in prayer for the candidate, the candidate’s family, our search committee, and our church as we take this step in calling a new College and Young Adult minister to our church.

Sunday at Calvary 8/12/18

Join us Sunday at 8:30 or 11:00 for great worship and an inspiring message from Brian Varble.  "This Is the Way Love Is," based on Psalm 36:5-10, John 13:34-35, and 1John 3:16-18, challenges us to action and takes a new look at the call to "love God/love people." During 11:00 worship we'll take a moment to recognize our preteens who will "Journey On" to the youth ministry.  Hank Ellington shares a special prayer for teachers and students about to start a new year. Speaking of a new year, in the 8/9/18  Pastor's Paragraph Dr. Baker shares C.A.L.M. thoughts for this very busy time and an update on the search for a minister to college students and young adults.  The 11:00 bulletin can be found here.
